IC Bunker Install Readiness Checklist

Applies to IC Bunker Updated 4 min read

Work through this list before, during and after every IC Bunker install. Most failed installs come from four camera settings: H.264, ONVIF user, frame rate and time sync. Set them before you go to site.

Approved capacity per gateway (600 MP/s): 10 cameras at 4MP / 15 fps is the baseline. Equivalents: 10 cameras at 2MP / 30 fps, or 5 cameras at 8MP / 15 fps. A gateway takes 10 cameras at most.

Pre-install

Do these before you go to site. Bench-configure cameras if you can.

Plan

  • ☐ Camera plan per gateway: make, model, resolution and frame rate, within the approved capacity above
  • ☐ Cameras support ONVIF Profile S or Profile T (the gateway takes video over the network only, no direct inputs)
  • ☐ Customer's name, US site address and email for the Owner handoff
  • ☐ Who pays: the customer
  • ☐ Laptop with a web browser (organizations, checkout and invitations are web only)

Network

  • ☐ Wired Ethernet drop for the gateway, on the same network segment as the cameras
  • ☐ DHCP on that network (the gateway does not support Wi-Fi, a static IP or a proxy)
  • ☐ Normal outbound internet, no port forwarding needed
  • ☐ DHCP reservations or static IPs for the cameras, so their addresses do not change after they are added
  • ☐ PoE switch has the power budget for every camera, including IR at night
  • ☐ UPS for the gateway and PoE switch (recommended)

Cameras

  • ☐ Camera firmware up to date
  • ☐ Main stream set to H.264 (H.265 is not recommended)
  • ☐ Main stream frame rate set to fps within capacity budget (many cameras ship at 25 or 30 fps)
  • ☐ NTP on, with the correct date, time and time zone (a wrong clock can make a correct password fail)
  • ☐ ONVIF enabled, with an ONVIF user. Newer cameras often have one by default; older cameras and some brands need one created
  • ☐ ONVIF username and password recorded and on hand

Gateway

  • ☐ Location with airflow (the gateway cools passively, so not a sealed cabinet) add a Bunker-Fan1 kit for low airflow and/or tight spaces.
  • ☐ 12 V power supply that shipped with the gateway
  • ☐ Gateway ID (AZNG-XXXX-XXXX) from the label on the bottom, written down

Install day

Budget about 30 minutes on site, not counting camera mounting.

  • ☐ Connect Ethernet first, then power
  • ☐ Wait 5 minutes before registering (create the account, organization and site while you wait)
  • ☐ Do not press the recovery button (factory use only)
  • ☐ Choose a plan and check out
  • ☐ Register the gateway by Gateway ID and stay on the screen until it finishes (up to about 90 seconds)
  • ☐ Click Search For Available Cameras, then add each camera with its ONVIF username and password
  • ☐ Finish aiming every camera before drawing zones
  • ☐ Add any exclusion zones to high traffic areas you want the AI engine to ignore.

Post-install

Do these before you leave site.

Verify

  • ☐ Gateway shows Online
  • ☐ Every camera streams in live view
  • ☐ Each gateway's capacity figure on the Gateways list matches the camera plan
  • ☐ Walk test: a person walking through each camera's view creates an event

Tune

  • ☐ Exclusion zones drawn around trees, palm fronds, flags and water
  • ☐ Zones kept tight and off areas where cars or people stop (anything centered inside a zone is ignored, including for alerts and search)
  • ☐ At least one alert set up with the customer

Hand off

  • ☐ Every site, gateway and camera in place before inviting the customer (an Owner invite only covers sites that already exist)
  • ☐ Customer as Organization Owner
  • ☐ Mobile app installed and signed in on the customer's phone
  • ☐ Customer walked through Home, live view, clips and the Let's finish setting up checklist
  • ☐ Billing moved to the customer if they pay (Subscription & Billing)

Record

  • ☐ Gateway serial number and site name
  • ☐ Each camera's name, make, model, IP address, firmware and stream settings
  • ☐ Camera credentials stored securely, not on paper left on site

Follow-up if needed (24 to 48 hours later)

  • ☐ Review alerts with the customer; widen a zone if the same spot keeps causing false alerts
  • ☐ Gateway still Online and cameras still streaming, including at night with IR on
  • ☐ Any over capacity notification checked against the camera plan
  • ☐ If a camera was moved, its zones redrawn
