Step 5: Invite People & Manage IC Bunker User Access

Applies to IC Bunker Updated 4 min read

Bunker Quick Start · Step 5 of 6

Invite People.

Give family members, staff or your installer access to your Bunker system, each with the permissions they need. This step is optional: skip it if you're the only one who needs access.

Step 5 · Invite People 5 of 6

Before you begin

Only organization Owners can invite new users.

Invitations must be created in the web app. Site Admins can add people who already belong to the organization using Add Existing Org User, but cannot invite new people.

Invite a person.

Add someone to your organization, then choose which sites they can access.

01

Open Invite New User

In the web app, navigate to Manage Organization → Organization Users → Invite New User.

02

Enter the user's information

Enter their First Name, Last Name and Email Address. Leave the Organization Owner switch turned off unless this person should have full control of the organization, including billing.

03

Assign access and roles

Click Next to open Assign Access & Roles. For each site, select No Access, View Only or Admin.

Assign Access & Roles · Choose the appropriate permission level for each site.

Inviting an Owner?

Owners do not need individual site assignments.

When the Organization Owner switch is enabled, the site-assignment step is skipped. The new Owner receives access to every site that exists at the time of invitation.

04

Submit the invitation

Click Submit. The user receives an email titled "Join [org] on IC Realtime" containing a link to the web app.

Will your installer look after your system?

Give your installer Admin on the site, not ownership.

You don't need to invite an installer for setup: you do each step yourself while they guide you. If they will service your system afterwards, invite them as a User and select Admin for that site. A site Admin can add and remove cameras and Gateways, manage zones, camera groups and site users, and restart or reset the Gateway. Only Owners can manage billing. You can reduce their access to View Only, or remove them with Remove From Organization, at any time.

How people join.

The invited user must sign in or create an account using the exact email address that received the invitation.

01

Sign in or create an account

The invitee signs in to Bunker or creates an account using the same email address entered in the invitation.

02

Accept the invitation

Select Accept on the You're Invited card on Home, or select Join Organization from the page opened by the invitation email.

Where invitations appear

Invitations can be accepted from the app.

Pending invitations appear as a You're Invited card on Home and Sites. They will also appear in the IC Bunker mobile app once it becomes available in the app stores.

Invitations expire after 24 hours.

If a user hasn't accepted an invitation, you can resend it or cancel it from Organization Users.

Resend Invite

Sends a fresh invitation and restarts the 24-hour expiration period.

Rescind Invitation

Cancels the pending invitation so it can no longer be accepted.

Understand Bunker roles.

There is no separate dealer, installer or technician role. Everyone you invite is an organization User with permissions assigned individually for each site, unless you make them an Owner.

✓

Your people are invited.

Once invitations are sent and the right site permissions are assigned, you're ready for the final step: finishing setup and getting to know your system.
