Cameras Not Appearing
If the app doesn't find your cameras during a scan, try these steps.
Check the Basics
- Are the cameras powered on? Verify that your cameras have power and their status LEDs are active.
- Are they IC Realtime cameras? IC Realtime TV works with IC Realtime branded cameras. Third-party cameras are not supported.
- Is the Apple TV on the same network? Your Apple TV and cameras must be on the same local network. Verify they're connected to the same router or switch.
Network Configuration
- Same subnet — The Apple TV and cameras should be on the same subnet. If your network uses VLANs, ensure multicast/broadcast traffic can flow between the camera VLAN and the Apple TV VLAN.
- Multicast traffic — Camera discovery uses multicast network messages. Some managed switches or enterprise firewalls block multicast by default. Ensure multicast is allowed on your network.
- Wi-Fi isolation — Some routers have "AP isolation" or "client isolation" enabled on Wi-Fi, which prevents devices from seeing each other. If your Apple TV is on Wi-Fi, check that this setting is disabled, or use a wired Ethernet connection instead.
Re-Scan
- Go to Settings > Cameras > Scan for Cameras.
- Wait for the full scan to complete (approximately 30 seconds).
- If cameras still don't appear, try restarting the camera(s) and scanning again.
Re-Run Setup
If you've made significant network changes, re-running the setup wizard can help:
- Go to Settings > System > Setup.
- Follow the wizard steps — discovery will run a fresh scan.
Still Not Working?
- Try connecting your Apple TV via wired Ethernet instead of Wi-Fi to rule out wireless network issues.
- Restart your Apple TV: Settings > System > Restart (in the tvOS system settings, not the app).
- Restart your router or network switch.
- Contact IC Realtime support if cameras are confirmed on the network but still not discoverable.
