iCloud Sync

Applies to Apple TV Updated 2 min read

If you have multiple Apple TVs in your home or business, iCloud Sync lets you share your camera configuration between them without setting up each one manually.

How It Works

iCloud Sync uses your Apple ID's iCloud storage to export and import your app configuration — including your camera list, credentials, zones, and settings.

Exporting Your Configuration

  1. Set up IC Realtime TV completely on one Apple TV (cameras, zones, names, settings).
  2. Go to Settings > System > iCloud Sync.
  3. Select Export to iCloud.
  4. Your configuration is saved to iCloud.

Importing on Another Apple TV

  1. Install IC Realtime TV on the second Apple TV (must be signed in with the same Apple ID).
  2. Go to Settings > System > iCloud Sync.
  3. Select Import from iCloud.
  4. Preview the configuration before confirming.
  5. The import applies the camera list, zones, and settings from your other Apple TV.

What Gets Synced

  • Camera list and credentials
  • Camera friendly names
  • Zone definitions and camera assignments
  • App settings and preferences

Important Notes

  • Both Apple TVs must be signed in with the same Apple ID.
  • Import shows a preview so you can review before applying — it won't overwrite your current setup without confirmation.
  • After importing, the second Apple TV still needs network access to the same cameras. If the Apple TVs are on different networks, imported cameras that aren't reachable will show as offline.
