Camera Management

Applies to Apple TV Updated 2 min read

Manage your discovered cameras in Settings > Cameras.

Scanning for Cameras

The app automatically discovers cameras during first-time setup, but you can run a scan anytime:

  1. Go to Settings > Cameras > Scan for Cameras (or use the quick action on the Home tab).
  2. The app scans your local network for IC Realtime cameras.
  3. Newly discovered cameras are added automatically.

When to re-scan: - After adding new cameras to your network. - After changing network configuration (new router, VLAN changes). - If a camera shows as offline but you know it's powered on.

Camera List

The camera list shows all discovered cameras with their:

  • Name — The camera's friendly name.
  • Connection status — Green (connected) or gray (offline).
  • Authentication status — Whether credentials have been provided.

Authenticating Cameras

Cameras that require credentials show an authentication prompt. You can:

  • Authenticate individually — Enter credentials for a single camera.
  • Bulk authenticate — Apply the same username and password to all unauthenticated cameras at once (useful if all your cameras share the same login).

Renaming Cameras

Give cameras friendly names that make sense for your setup:

  1. Select a camera from the list.
  2. Choose Rename.
  3. Enter a descriptive name (e.g., "Front Door," "Garage," "Warehouse East").

Custom names appear everywhere in the app — grid tiles, Site Map pins, event notifications, and more.

Favorites

Mark cameras as favorites to give them priority placement:

  1. Select a camera from the list.
  2. Toggle Favorite on.

Favorite cameras appear in the Favorites rail on the Home tab and can be pinned as the hero camera.

Removing Cameras

To remove a camera from the app, select it and choose Remove. The camera can be re-discovered with a future scan.
