Install IC Scout and Run the Tutorial
IC Scout is free on the App Store. Install it, walk the tutorial once in Demo Mode, and you will know the whole app before you use it on a real job.
Install the app
- Open the App Store on your iPhone and search for IC Scout, or scan the QR code on the IC Scout sales sheet.
- Install and open it.
- The welcome screen appears, followed by a three-page walkthrough for new users. Read it; it is short.
Allow the permissions it asks for
Scout asks for two things, both at the moment it first needs them:
- Local network access. Required. Scout cannot discover anything without it. If you decline, discovery returns an empty list with no obvious reason, so grant it.
- Camera and photo library. Optional, and only needed for installation photos. You can decline and still do everything else.
If you declined local network access by accident, fix it in iOS Settings > IC Scout > Local Network.
Run the tutorial in Demo Mode
Demo Mode loads five simulated devices and two sample jobs, and shows a tutorial tip on each screen explaining what you are looking at. Nothing it does touches real hardware.
- On the device list, choose Demo Mode.
- Work through the devices. Two are marked Needs Setup so you can practise the password flow.
- Open a device to see the detail screen, snapshots and the live preview.
- Open Sites to see the two sample jobs and generate a report from one.
Replay it later
The tutorial is not a one-time thing. Settings > Replay Tutorial starts it again, which is useful when a new technician joins or when you have not used a feature in a few months.
