Export the Manifest and the Install Report

Applies to IC Scout Updated 2 min read

Scout produces two documents from a job. They have different audiences and one of them contains passwords, so treat them differently.

The CSV deployment manifest

A spreadsheet row per device, for your own records and for whoever programs the monitoring platform. The columns are:

Model, Device Class, Serial Number, MAC Address, IP Address, Subnet Mask, Gateway, Firmware Version, Machine Name, HTTP Port, Management Port, Admin Username, Admin Password, Init State, Channel Title, NTP Enabled, NTP Server, Timezone, Export Date.

It saves as IC-Scout-Manifest-<date>-<time>.csv, for example IC-Scout-Manifest-2026-04-29-143022.csv.

The manifest contains admin passwords in plain text

This matters more than anything else on this page. The CSV holds the admin username and password for every device on the site, unencrypted, in a file that is trivially readable by anyone who gets it.

So:

  • Do not email it to the customer, and do not put it in a shared folder that is open to a whole company.
  • Send it, if you must send it, the way your company sends credentials, and nowhere else.
  • Delete it from the phone once it has reached your records.
  • If the customer wants a document to keep, give them the PDF report instead. The PDF does not contain passwords.

The PDF install report

This is the handover document, and it is safe to give the customer.

It is US Letter and contains:

  • A branded cover page with the IC Realtime logo, titled Installation Report, naming the site
  • A device summary table of everything installed
  • A page per device with its snapshot and the installation photos you took

Generate it from the site, not from a live scan, so it includes photos and snapshots.
